Rapid’s Academic Discount Scheme (formerly known as the University Discount Scheme) is open to any student, lecturer or support staff currently enrolled or employed at a university, university college, further education college or higher education college in the United Kingdom.

When students or academic staff register with Rapid using their ac.uk email address, they will receive the following discounts:

• End Column Discount on Electronic Components & Batteries
• 5% Discount on Tools & Equipment and Test & Measurement products
• Special prices on Glassware
• Special prices on Art & Design
• 15% off Tektronix test equipment

All these prices will automatically be applied when purchasing any relevant products.

Q: How do I know if I am eligible?

A: If you are a student, lecturer or support staff currently enrolled or employed at a university, university college, further education college or higher education college in the United Kingdom, then you will be eligible. All you need for us to verify your eligibility is to include your .ac.uk email address when you register.

Q: How do I register?

A: Click on the 'Register now' button and follow our simple registration process. However, you will need to ensure that you use your academic email address in the 'Email' field, as this will allow us to correctly identify your eligibility to be enrolled in the scheme.

Q: I’ve registered but I am not receiving my discount

A: Please double check the following:

1. Is your university email address registered against your Rapid account? If not then we will not be able to correctly identify you as being associated with a university. You will need to open a new account with your university email address (ending .ac.uk).
2. Please allow up to 24 hours after registering for your discounts to appear on our website (this may take up to 48 hours if you register after 8pm or at weekends)
3. Are the products you are ordering eligible for discounted pricing? Check the list above for the product ranges that are included

Q: I am studying at a college of higher education. Am I eligible for the scheme?

A: Yes. The scheme is open to students, lecturers and support staff at universities, colleges of further and higher education in the UK, as long as they have an ac.uk email address.

Q: When I try to register I receive a message to say that my email address is already associated with an account.

A: This is because you have already registered on our website. You will already be on the discount scheme if you registered with an ac.uk email address.
